Adult Groups
Friendship: The goal of our Friendship group is to provide friendship to cognitively challenged teens and adults within St. Albert. Volunteer mentors from the congregation meet with our friends on the first and third Wednesdays of each month from 7:00-8:30pm. Songs, crafts, Bible stories and fellowship are highlights of each gathering. For more information contact Irene at (780) 458-3091 or Sharen at (780) 459-6396 or visit www.friendship.org.
Fellowship Groups: There are several fellowship groups within the church designed to meet and enhance the varied spiritual, educational and fellowship needs of the congregation and community. Bible study, Young Family socials, weekly Prayer Group, and a Book Club are just some of the areas in which the church family enjoy fellowship. For more information about any of these areas, contact the Church office at (780) 458-7568.
Children and Youth Groups
Children's Worship: Our church has a well established and comprehensive church education program for young people. We offer Bible-based teaching during our service to the following age groups: 3-5 years, grades 1-3, and grades 4-6. Each is led by adult volunteers and willing helpers. The Children's Worship Coordinator, Randy Pool, can be contacted at (780) 418-7848.
Youth Weekends (Grades 7-12): To meet the church educational needs of the youth in our church, we offer weekend retreats in both spring and fall of each year. At the September 2009 event we went to Ponoka, AB. We talked about how the Lord’s Prayer is given to all followers that want personal refreshing, hope and forgiveness that prayer offers. Our follower’s prayer was lived out through helping a widow from the Ponoka area with lots of grunt work and elbow grease. “One of the best weekends yet” was a constant comment from the youth following this event. If you are in grades 7-12, join us for the next Strength Weekend April 30-May 2, details to follow.
Profession of Faith: Profession of Faith classes are offered as required. Contact Pastor John for more information at (780) 458-7568.
GEMS (Girls Everywhere Meeting the Saviour): GEMS is a club for girls in Grades 2-6. The girls meet every other Thursday from 6:30-8:00pm. With the help of women counselors, they study the Bible, learn new songs, make crafts, perform community service and earn merit badges. For more information, please contact Maricris Pool at (780) 418-7848, or visit gemsgc.org.
