COVID-19 Information and Protocols

July 2, 2021 Update: Stage 3 Reopening Information

Greetings to all. We are pleased to be able to announce the early steps we are taking towards a full return to worship and fellowship together as a church family!

With the Stage 3 re-opening of the Province of Alberta effective July 1, we have begun the process to determine how to resume regular church operations and activities. Our re-start will take some time as we engage with volunteers and ministry leaders to ensure that the ministries of our church are safely resumed. The first matters we have addressed deal with our Sunday worship services, and the following changes are effective immediately:

  • There is no limit on the number of attendees. This means there is no need to pre-register to attend.

  • Face masks are optional, in accordance with AHS's "General Guidance For COVID-19 And Other Respiratory Infections". The personal decision to wear or not wear a mask must be respected. We expect our church family to be tolerant and accepting of each other's views on this topic as we continue to follow AHS guidance.

  • There is no explicit guidance dealing with congregational singing, meaning that it is allowed. Our approach is to respect individual wishes in this regard, and to be considerate and courteous of those wishes by the people seated in proximity to yourself.

  • There is no requirement for social distancing. Nonetheless, we are maintaining a somewhat increased distance between rows of chairs in the sanctuary for now, and we ask attendees to respect any request by their neighbors within a row for one or two empty chairs between households (including singles).

  • Our traditional after-church coffee will not yet be offered in the church foyer as we re-connect with the volunteers involved. Socializing following the service should take place outside, and respect the wishes of individuals for social distancing and mask wearing.

Live-streaming of church services will continue for those who are not in church. Updates will be provided in the weeks and months ahead as our re-opening continues to unfold.

Overall the approach continues to align with the guidance provided by Alberta Health Services (AHS). Additional information is available, such as the guidelines provided in the link is below. We trust in your patience and understanding as a congregation during this time. We are also thankful to the Lord for keeping us through this time, and trust in His wisdom and guidance as we move ahead.

Additional points of clarity:

1. We are taking precautions to minimize the risk for all who attend, however we cannot eliminate that risk completely. If you or someone in your home is experiencing symptoms of Covid such as a fever, new onset of cough or worsening chronic cough, new or worsening shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, sore throat, runny nose (children exempt from this one) we ask that you not attend for 14 days. This is in compliance with AHS recommendations, and for the safety of all attendees. We will continue to provide on-line worship services for all who are not able to attend in person.

2. Hand sanitizers are available throughout the church. We ask that you clean your hands upon entering and exiting the building.

3. We continue to encourage and appreciate your use of online giving at this time (, though we may return to physical baskets in the near future.

Our goal is to enjoy worshiping our Lord as a community of faith together in a safe way. Thank you for your patience and understanding, and for your support and blessing over the past many months. May the Spirit of the Lord give us wisdom and guide us as we look ahead in faith to the future he has prepared for us as his church. And may the grace and peace be ours in abundance in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, (II Peter 1.2).

Kids Zone

With No Sunday School right now, we have a great Kids Zone set up in the sanctuary. This table is set up for kids to come and pick a few things to keep them involved during the service. Books, activity sheets, crayons, dancing rings, and memory verse cards.

All are welcome. Wiggle, giggles and all!
